Every figure shown comes from the DVSA MOT History API, the government service that publishes MOT test records. Nothing is edited, corrected or added — if a record looks surprising, that is what the official record holds.
- DVSAMOT tests carried out in England, Scotland and Wales.
- DVA NITests carried out in Northern Ireland. Defect details are not published for these, so MOTory says so rather than implying a clean test.
- CVSAnnual tests for commercial vehicles — lorries, buses and trailers.
MOTory keeps no database. Each lookup is a fresh request to DVSA, and nothing about the vehicles you check is stored between visits. The same records are available directly from the GOV.UK MOT history service.
